Pre-requisite:

Please ensure your phone battery should be charged at minimum 80%

Download and install latest USB drivers

Your device should have a working CWM or TWRP recovery installed.

Process to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 with CM12.1 ROM

Connect your device to PC and transfer the downloaded CM12.1 ROM along Google Apps onto your device storage.

Turn of your device and boot into CWM custom Recovery menu by the hardware keys combination or using any third party app (Mostly found in Play store).

Once your device enters into CWM recovery, create a Nandroid backup of your device or follow our guide to create a Nandroid backup (this will create a backup of your complete device including current firmware) if something goes wrong you can restore your previous firmware.

Once the Nandroid process completes, navigate and select wipe data/factory reset.(this will erase your data)

Now it’s the time to flash the CM12.1 ROM on your device. Choose “install zip from sdcard” >> choose zip from sdcard & navigate to the folder in which you have copied the custom ROM.zip file and select it.

STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED

Step 1: Download CyanogenMod12 lollipop ROM and Google Apps from downloads section to your PC.

Step 2: Using a USB cable connect the Galaxy TabPro to PC and transfer the downloaded packages into phone memory. Make sure you copy it to root folder and not in sub-folders.

Step 3: After transfer completes disconnect the USB cable and turn off the Galaxy tab.

Step 4: Now get into recovery mode on Galaxy TabPro using the below step:

  • Turn on the device by holding Volume up+Home+Power buttons together until you see the recovery mode.

Step 5: Once the device is in custom recovery mode, you can find a list of options. Most of these options cannot be found in stock recovery. Among them find and select wipe data/factory reset(In recovery mode, the device touch will not work. You can use Volumebuttons to navigate and Power button to choose).

Step 6: Now perform a complete cache wipe by selecting wipe cache partition.

Step 7: You can now enter Advanced options of recovery mode. Get into Advanced option and select wipe dalvik cache.

Step 8: As all the required data is cleared, you can now get started to installation steps. In main menu, select install zip from sdcard. Using the Volume and Power buttons navigate to previously copied CyanogenMod12 Lollipop package and select it. Confirm the installation in next step. Do not interrupt the installation.

Step 9: Once the installation is complete, follow the Step 8 and choose Google appspackage now and confirm the installation. Wait until the process completes.

Step 10: After completion of Google apps installation, select reboot system now to restart the Galaxy TabPro.

That’s it! The Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4 Wi-Fi now reboots running Android 5.1 Lollipop. To confirm the Android version, Go to Settings>About Phone you can find the Android version as 5.1.
