Charter
Had a tough day yesterday with my Dad who is not in good health. Sadly, my mom and I decided it was time for him to relinquish his 2 revolvers. Like taking away the car keys, this really sucked. Both are Charter Arms (1st Generation: 593xxx; 798xxx) Undercover .38 (one blued the other stainless) that have less than 25 rounds and have been kept in superb shape - built in Stratford, CT. I gather from some quick research that the revolvers are probably 20-25 years. Any experts with first-hand experience with these beauties?

Charter Arms Serial Numbers By Year 3

The Charter Arms web site as of August 2011 no longer lists this model under the products category. Also in 2008, Charter Arms announced a new revolver: the Charter Arms Rimless Revolver. The new revolver would be able to load and fire rimless cartridges such as the 9mm,.40 S&W, and.45 ACP without the need for moon clips. Essentially, each Heritage guitar is (ink) stamped with a six character serial number on the back of the headstock. The characters are comprised of a leading letter, denoting the year (see table below), followed by five digits. The five digits of the serial number encode the day and order of manufacture for the guitar. I will be making him one of my pocket holsters for using the Charter Arms for EDC. Blued finish (and very nice blue job I must say) 1 7/8 inch barrel Walnut grips with checkering and Charter arms medallions. Seem to be oversized grips but factory original. Advanced uninstaller pro serial key. Serial number 2455XX Right side of barrel 'Charter Arms' and under that 'Bridgeport, Conn.'
